The Sun Ballast photovoltaic structures can be used on all types of flat surfaces, such as membranes, gravel, pavements, or – as in this case – green roofs. This PV system was installed in France with the concrete ballast of the
East-West 11°.2 system: compatible with numerous ballast models for photovoltaics –
from 3° to 30° – the East-West Sun Ballast systems represent a
simple, versatile, and quick to install solution. The ability to use photovoltaic structures with different heights from the covering allows for
better management of the design of systems on roofs covered with vegetation: the use of elevated concrete ballasts prevents the grass from damaging or causing performance drops in the PV modules, while also providing
protection from more intense weather events. The use of these
Sun Ballast photovoltaic structures – which combine both the support and weight functions in a single element – also allows for the adjustment of both the length and distance between rows, making the management of obstacles and shading
much simpler. Furthermore, all Sun Ballast ballasts do not require any drilling, neither of the roof nor of the structures: the
M8 threaded bushings are already pre-inserted into the structure, and the fastening of the panels is solid, secure, and durable.
