Ballast 5°.L

Developed to ensure the correct vertical fixation of large panels, the 5°L ballast is used for positioning modules in single independent rows, allowing adjustment of both the length and distance between rows without any constraints, ensuring the best balance between wind resistance and roof loads. The 5°L ballast also ensures compliance with the support parameters indicated by the manufacturers, without affecting the warranty on the modules and simplifying all assembly operations. Like all Sun Ballast ballasts, this structure already includes M8 fixing bushings inside, and can be placed on any type of flat surface without drilling.

ZAVORRA 5°.L

Sun Ballast 5° fixing system is realized of vibrated and reinforced concrete and allows an inclination of 5°. The material with which the ballast is made has an exposure class XC4 as well as a resistance class of C32 / 40.

It performs both the function of support and ballast to the photovoltaic panels and must not be fixed on the roof but only supported. During installation, a rubber protective sheath is placed between the support and the cover.

The photovoltaic panels are hooked onto the support equipped with an M8 bushing by means of special central clips and the orientation of the module can be horizontal or vertical.

Can the ballast system be installed on all types of flat surfaces?

Yes, our system can be installed on membranes, paved surfaces, gravel, green roofs and on the ground.

Can the ballast be drilled?

Yes, if necessary, our ballast can be drilled in the central areas to insert expansion anchors with a diameter of 9 mm.

Can profiles be installed on your ballasts?

Can solar thermal panels be installed on your ballasts?

Yes, our technicians will recommend the best solution after reviewing the panel’s technical data sheet and installation instructions.

Can glass-glass panels be installed?

Yes, they can be installed using mounting rails.

Is it possible to know the delivery times?

Once we receive the completed order—that is, the signed order, the delivery address and payment—we arrange shipment with the following estimated delivery times: 2–3 business days for Northern Italy, 3–4 business days for Central Italy, 4–5 business days for Southern Italy and the islands, and 5–6 business days for other countries.

Can you deliver using a vehicle equipped with a tail lift, as we do not have the equipment needed to unload the pallets at the construction site?

Yes, certainly. We can arrange a vehicle equipped with a hydraulic tail lift to unload up to 15–20 pallets at ground level.

Up to what roof pitch can your system be installed?

It can be installed on a roof with a slope variation ranging from +5° to -5°.

Is it possible to ground the system?

Yes, the system can be prepared for grounding using the plates supplied upon request, or by creating an electrical connection between the panels in accordance with standard installation procedures.

Is it possible to have a ballast manufactured according to our dimensional requirements?

Yes, it is possible. We also offer custom solutions.

Is it possible to have the ballasts in black?

Yes, it is possible, with a minimum order quantity of one pallet.

Does the ballast contain steel reinforcement?

Yes, our ballasts contain one or two steel reinforcement bars to withstand handling. This means that if a ballast is damaged during transport—for example, if it has hairline cracks around its circumference—it can still be used.

Is the insert embedded in the ballast made of stainless steel?

No, it is made of galvanised steel, as this material allows the thread to be re-tapped during installation using an M8 tap.

What should I do if the insert is oxidised?

Apply a lubricant, such as WD-40, or grease to the insert.

How deep is your insert?

Our insert has an effective thread depth of approximately 3 cm.
