Developed to maximize all surfaces for photovoltaic systems on flat roofs, the
Vela System from Sun Ballast represents a
simple, effective, and quick solution that allows for optimal use of all available areas. The Vela System consists of different ballast weights, each manufactured with a
variable height: in this way, it is possible to place the rows of photovoltaic modules very close to each other, forming a true "sail" of modules that optimizes spaces and takes into account both shadows and obstacles on the roof (e.g., chimneys, fans, etc.). Depending on the characteristics of the roof and the specific needs of the installer, the concrete bodies of the Vela System can also be used in single rows, with the distance between them freely modifiable and selecting the most suitable height. The system is available with
two different inclinations: the 11° system allows for up to three consecutive rows of modules, while the 5° version allows for up to six. The photovoltaic system visible in the photo with
11 kWp was installed by our client Urbansolar on the flat gravel roof of a residential building in Villanueva de la Cañada (near Madrid, Spain), and thanks to the concrete bodies from Sun Ballast, the installation was carried out with great
ease, reducing installation times, avoiding roof penetration, and easily adapting to the particular characteristics of the roof.
