Flat roof coverings can come in many different types, and among the most common are those made of
gravel: this type of covering indeed offers excellent protection against weather agents, prevents excessive pooling, and does not require special maintenance. However, when it comes to photovoltaic systems, it is essential to select support structures that allow for quick installation without damaging the surface protected by the gravel in any way. This is why – even with this covering – Sun Ballast structures represent an intelligent, simple, and practical choice:
the ballasts are not in fact
fixed in any way, but it is sufficient to place them directly on top of the gravel layer. For the
6 KWp system installed in Garrigues Sainte Eulalie by our French client Quietude, the
Standard system 30° was chosen: as with all Sun Ballast structures, no holes are required, neither on the covering nor on the ballast (the M8 fixing bushes are already present in the concrete body), and the Standard system offers the installer maximum
flexibility, versatility, and great freedom of placement. Finally, to ensure the highest level of solidity, the
Cablowind system was added, a simple and effective solution that – serving both as a channel and as additional weight – allows for better management of electrical cables while further consolidating the stability and resistance of the system.
