This
8 kW photovoltaic system was created by our client MK Home Energie in Sète, on the French coast, using Sun Ballast ballasts for photovoltaics. The use of these structures for photovoltaics on flat roofs has allowed for a
simple and quick installation, without the need to use complex metal components and
without drilling anchor holes. The prefabricated concrete ballasts from the
Monofila system 10° – available in inclinations from 0° to 30° – are easily placed, even when the system is installed on flat roofs with gravel. In this case, the structures were positioned over the membrane located beneath the gravel layer,
without damaging the integrity of the waterproofing in any way and freely adjusting both the length and the distance between the rows. Thanks to the integration of
Cablowind and the
U-Block, wind resistance was also ensured – which is especially intense and frequent in coastal areas: Cablowind – a special concrete channel that acts both as
additional weight and
housing for electrical cables – actually allows for a significant increase in resistance to weather conditions, and the additional U-Block weights of 30 kg can be placed either on top of the channel (as in this case) or directly on the ballasts. The high quality of the concrete used for Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts also guarantees
maximum resistance to salinity, making photovoltaic systems on flat roofs even
more reliable and durable.
