Our client Elettronett has created this system on a
flat roof covered with slate membrane, a type of membrane useful for increasing the adhesion of the ballasts on the surface. The installation was carried out with the ballasts of the
Connect Vela system. This type of structure, in addition to offering the same stability as the
Connect system, also allows for optimizing the available space on the roof by
eliminating the space usually left free between rows of panels. In fact, thanks to this system, it is possible to install two consecutive rows of horizontally positioned photovoltaic panels. The area where the
photovoltaic system is located makes it particularly
subject to various wind actions, which is why our
technical office chose to further increase wind resistance by utilizing two different solutions: the first involves the addition of
supplementary weights that increase the overall weight of the system and consequently decrease the possibility of
movements due to wind, and the second is the use of a windbreak cover, placed in the terminal row, useful for minimizing the impact of the wind and preventing the ballasts from tipping over.
