The installation of photovoltaic systems for the self-generation of electricity is an increasingly popular choice, especially in areas where weather conditions are particularly favorable. This is the case in Sicily, which, with its over 2,500 hours of sunshine per year, allows for high levels of productivity, making the investment even more convenient. This system of 6.1 KWp was installed by our client MRG Power on the flat roof of an industrial building in Misterbianco, a small town in the province of Catania, and the Standard system 10° V from Sun Ballast proved to be the most suitable for the client's specific needs: the ability to mount the panels vertically has indeed allowed for optimal use of the available space, ensuring high efficiency of the system and maximum resistance to wind stress. A typical phenomenon of all Mediterranean islands is the presence of strong and constant winds, and one of the fundamental requirements for systems installed in these areas is their ability to withstand loads resulting from windy conditions. For this reason, the Technical Office of Sun Ballast – composed of over 15 technicians always available to provide quick, professional, and free assistance – suggested the integration of the Standard system with two Sun Ballast accessories: the Cablowind system and the U-shaped additional weight. The addition of these two accessories indeed guarantees unparalleled stability, increasing the overall solidity of the installation and ensuring the maximum longevity of the system.
